All Oakland children need informed and empowered parents, grandparents, guardians, and mentors who can advocate for them. Oakland families have the most at stake in local schools, yet many of their voices are not heard by decision-makers.
Our city needs families and students who push our city leaders to put children first. We partner with The Oakland REACH and Energy Convertors to raise public awareness of inequities in our system, advocate for policy changes like The Opportunity Ticket, bring together stakeholders in urgent city-wide initiatives such as Literacy For All, and develop innovative community programs addressing remote learning needs, such as The People’s Literacy Fund.
